I’m looking forward to June. Not just because of the Jupiter-Venus conjunction that everyone is going insane about (not that it isn’t worth the hype). There is so much going on this month to set the stage for the fast-moving month of July. This month’s energy feels like when you have to clean out your closet of the clothes from last summer to make room for the new year’s new summer clothes you are treating yourself to. The purge is always the hardest part. Good thing we have the New Moon in Gemini on the 14th to remind us that the only limits that exist are those we impose on ourselves.
I love the Gemini energy of the New Moon. Not just because it’s in my 10th House and I need a little variety in my career. Mainly because this is going to collectively bring a lot of people out of the dark with the sun conjunct the new moon in Gemini. This could bring a ‘wake-up’ feeling in the house that Gemini occupies in your birth chart. Get your birth chart here if you haven’t done it already! Knowing is half the battle, and don’t let the wheel and lines overwhelm you. Schedule a quick rundown meeting with me here on how to start reading your own chart.
Venus entering Leo right before could give a bitter taste of dissatisfaction in how you’ve been accepting less than you deserve, or maybe even selling yourself short in your accomplishments. It’s vital to remember for my fellow overachievers (Cap, Virgo, & Leo) that humility is healthy, but too much turns into denial and too little creates self-importance. You cannot be replaced just as much as I cannot, but we are not above one another on the sidewalk or passing by in a car. So many people have lost track of themselves in survival mode. These Gemini transits aren’t going to allow us to continue to keep up the hustle & bustle without the rest and recuperation. Burnout isn’t sexy, and neither is being overstimulated.
This month, I encourage you to practice more “practical” grounding with me. I’ma walk it like I talk it, and I encourage you to join me. June’s challenge is to practice a form of grounding when your mind, your life, or your environment feels too ‘crowded’. Practical grounding for me looks like my shoulder taps for self-regulation when I’m in a busy place or a grocery store I don’t want to be in. It can also look like humming your favorite chorus while listening to a lecture, or even using your fidget toy during a difficult conversation you need to have. They may not look like it or feel like it, but they are all forms of grounding yourself back into your body in the present moment.
Life is so busy, we need to take care to make sure our minds are a sanctuary to come back home to at the end of the day. Too many of us are creating the monsters we are constantly running from in our own psyche. Take ownership and do some practical grounding when you notice it happening.
I’m curious to know: Is this something you do already? What are some of your current practical grounding methods that work for you on a day-to-day basis? How can you be more aware of the restlessness around you or in your mind before it becomes overwhelming? If you’re neurodivergent(neurospicy), we would really love to hear your feedback on what works best for you.
When mercury goes retrograde in Cancer later this month, on the same day as the Full moon in Capricorn, June 29th. Expect some people or topics to resurface that you thought were settled; this could follow Cancerian themes of the home or feeling at home, your mother, and the relationship with her, creating peace or protecting it. Anything you are fiercely protective of, expect the boundaries to be pushed or challenged, especially while the sun in Cancer is directly opposite the full moon. It’s giving seeing through bullshit power plays, authority being challenged for the greater good, or even a head over heart dilemma. Is it really that important to you? Would you face your fears and anxiety for it? Would you be an outcast for it? How bad do you really want it?
This, of course, is playing perfectly into the Jupiter transiting into Leo for the last day of the month on June 30th. Of course, Leo would make a climactic entrance in Leo right after a busy full moon, considering Capricorn is usually more heavy-hitting and subtle. The transits in the sky remind us that fate waits on NO ONE. This Jupiter transit in Leo is no different. We are going to be experiencing growing pains in the area Leo occupies in your chart. I always love to remind anyone every chance I get, yes, Jupiter is about higher learning and expansion. However, no one ever likes to mention the headaches you get when you’re in school learning a new subject, creating new neural pathways in your brain, or the fact that growing out of anything means you have to ‘burst,’ which is known to be a slow and traumatic process.
Outgrowing old ways of learning, coping, and even living is changing collectively. I’m so grateful we get to experience it together. What are you craving more in your community? In what house are you going to be expanding? Are you looking forward to it? Why or why not? I know that I’m healing and growing by being seen and heard in ways that have always caused me fear and discomfort.
I’m really looking forward to June, aren’t you?
What are your thoughts?
